Q: How easy is it to set up, take down and store? | A: With a dry weight of only 35 pounds, our anchors are easier to set up and take down than digging sand anchors. Q: How is the anchor  positioned on the ground?  |  A:  You can place them on slickrock or sand!  It's "boot" shape is designed for slopes. It is ideal to place them on slopes no greater than approx. 12 degrees  (20% grade).  

Q: How much does the anchor weigh and what's it's size? | A: Dry, it only weighs approximately 35 pounds which makes it super easy to set up and take down.  Full, it holds about 600 gallons or approximately 5000 pounds.  The tarp is sits on is approximately 7 feet square.  

Q: How easy is the anchor to maintain?  |  A: So easy! We suggest brushing the sand/dirt off before storing it.  It can be stored wet between uses; however, at the end of the season we suggest hosing them down and drying them out before the off season.   It is made from UV resistant materials, however if you really want to prolong the life of the Booty 5000 you can wipe it down with 303 Products UV Protectant once each month during the season.

Q: How should I fill the anchor with water?  | A: We recommend using an industrial quality 3 inch sump pump with at least a 50 foot hose to pump water from the lake into the anchor.  CLICK HERE to see the pump we suggest using.  The end of the hose should be a female camlock fitting. Never use a sump pump directly on the lake bed, instead, hang it using a heavy duty tripod or place it submerged in a bucket in the lake. We suggest having a gas powered 3" waste pump as a back up.

Q: Why is it called the "Booty 5000"? | A: It's a play on the word "Boot". Our boot-shaped design is unique and allows for safe positioning on sloped surfaces.  It weighs approximately 5000 pounds when filled.

Q: Are you making any improvements for your 2026 anchors? | A: Our 2026 anchors will have a sealed top for improved safety and 3-inch camlock fittings on the intake and exit ports to simplify filling and emptying. You will no longer need to hold the hose while filling, as it will connect directly to the intake port.
